  80. BOOKLET is designed to create PC Booklet sized documents from full page
  81. text files on Laser Printers which emulate the Hewlett- Packard LaserJet
  82. series.  It prints four pages of the text file on one sheet of paper.
  83. The pages are printed "two thirds size" on the right and left halves of
  84. both sides of a sheet of paper turned sideways (Landscape orientation.)
  85. It supports all the standard sizes of paper (A4, LETTER, LEGAL, and
  86. EXECUTIVE)

  88. BOOKLET will perform transformation on basic LaserJet formatting
  89. commands.  This means that you can use your word processor to print a
  90. formatted document to a file and use BOOKLET to print that file in
  91. booklet form.  For this to be successful, you must have fonts loaded in
  92. your printer for the sizes BOOKLET will use.  These can be from a font
  93. cartridge or may be soft fonts which you have loaded ahead of running
  94. BOOKLET.  BOOKLET does not create or load any fonts.  You will need
  95. fonts which are approximately two thirds the point size of the fonts you
  96. use in your document.

  98. The BOOKLET Document has been formatted for LaserJet printers so it is
  99. not easy to read on a computer screen.  You may need to supply one or
  100. more parameters to BOOKLET.  The size of paper you are using is required
  101. if it is not LETTER.  This will be either /S:A4 for the European
  102. standard paper or /S:LETTER for US 8.5x11 inch paper.

  104. A second parameter is needed if you are using the Multi-Purpose tray on
  105. an HP LaserJet IIP or LaserJet IIIP and your output is going to the
  106. normal stacker tray.  This parameter, /K:MP causes the order of printing
  107. to accommodate the way these printers take paper from the MP tray.  Your
  108. command line would look as follows:

  110.           BOOKLET /S:LETTER /K:MP

  112. If you are using the front output tray, use the /K:DJ parameter in
  113. place of the /K:MP parameter.
  114.  
  115. For the HP DeskJet series you will need to add two parameters. Add /K:DJ
  116. /AS:9,1.5 to cause the printing order to match the way the DeskJets feed
  117. paper and to tell BOOKLET about the extra unprintable margin these
  118. printers have.  Your command line would look as follows:

  122. If you have a printer other than the above which stacks its output with
  123. the printing up you will need /K:INVERTED as a second parameter.  Your
  124. command line would look as follows:

  128. When you are prompted to load the pages for the second side, place the
  129. pages face down (as they came out of the printer) in the source paper
  130. tray.  (Unless you are using the Multi-purpose tray.  In that case, the
  131. pages should be face up.)

  133. BOOKLET is distributed as shareware.

  135. Shareware is commercial software distributed in an unconventional
  136. manner.  Shareware isn't free.  If you use it regularly, the authors
  137. expect compensation.  Shareware allows you to evaluate the product
